RIVERSIDE: Parade to honor veterans
The 10th Annual Salute To Veterans Parade is scheduled from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 18, in downtown Riverside.

The route, the same as in previous years, begins with staging at Riverside City College. Parade units will proceed north on Ramona to Magnolia Avenue, turn right on Magnolia/Market, right onto 10th Street, right again onto to Main Street and will end two blocks past the historic Riverside County Courthouse in the Jury Parking Lot on Main Street.
Parade participants have included active military units, veterans’ service clubs and organizations, elected officials, high school, military and bagpipe bands, floats, K-9 units, antique cars, trucks and military equipment, flyovers by antique aircraft, JROTC units from local high schools, Shriners, Elks and, of course, lots and lots of veterans.
The Grand Marshal for this year’s parade will be Riverside County Sheriff Stan Sniff, a U.S. Army veteran who is involved in activities supporting Inland veterans.
Spectators are invited to tour the staging area prior to the parade to see the assembling units and to take part in the annual pre-parade pancake breakfast put on by the cadets of the Civil Air Patrol. The breakfast will cost $5 and will include eggs, bacon, juice and pancakes.
